  1. Open the Instagram app on your mobile device or log in to Instagram on a web browser.

  2. Tap or click on your profile picture to go to your profile.

  3. Tap or click on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner of your screen.

  4. Tap or click on “Settings”.

  5. Scroll down and tap or click on “Privacy and Security”.

  6. Tap or click on “Delete Your Account”.

  7. Select an option from the drop-down menu next to "Why are you deleting your account?"

  8. Enter your Instagram account's username and password, then click or tap on Next.

  9. Re-enter your password.

  10. Click or tap on "Temporary disable account"

  11. Confirm the action by click or tap on Disable Account

Note: If you temporarily deactivate your account, your profile, photos, comments, and likes will be hidden until you reactivate it by logging back in. Keep in mind that you will not be able to use the same username if you choose to reactivate your account in the future.
